Systemic Family Therapy

A therapy service for individuals, couples and families

Aims

It is important that your confidentiality and privacy is protected. If you agree I will let your GP know about our meetings by standard letter. This is a health and safety consideration so that we can inform each other of urgent concerns or matters of risk. We provide a confidential service but we are ethically bound to break confidentiality in certain circumstances where we consider there is risk of harm.

I aim to offer a safe, professional, transparent, collaborative and respectful service which is also good value, bearing in mind my experience, qualifications, membership of various professional bodies and professional insurance, as well as my own regular training to keep up-to-date with developments in the field.

Fees

I operate a sliding scale of fees and in cases of financial hardship and when income is less than the national average I reduce my hourly rate by 25%. Please contact me for further information.

Cancellations

It may be helpful for you to be clear about my cancellation charges. I would only cancel sessions if I was too unwell to work, or in an emergency, and in this instance I would inform you promptly and rearrange sessions when possible. I will not charge for cancellations if given 48 hours notice but cancellations will usually be charged at the full fee if made less than 48 hours. Cancellations can be made by phone or phone message. Holiday periods are usually mutually arranged in advance. I try to rearrange cancelled sessions but this is not always possible within the same week.

Waiting list

For non-urgent referrals there may be up to a six-week waiting list. Urgent referrals from psychiatrists or GPs can usually be seen by arrangement sooner.
